The gluten free pancakes are very delicious. They taste a little like corn, so probably the mixing is corn based. The service was great, the staff were friendly and very quick to serve us. The coffee wasn't so great but overall restaurant.
This is my absolute favorite place to go for brunch in SLO. Conveniently located in Downtown SLO, Louisa's is a cute, intimate diner that serves delicious breakfast foods. I love to order French Toast whenever I order breakfast/brunch and it was very good. It's not too sweet on it's own, but paired with the syrup, it's just the right amount of sweet. My friend got the buckwheat pancakes which she also really enjoyed. It is important to note that since the place is on the smaller side, there will likely be a wait. You have to come to the restaurant and be added to their waitlist. I recommend coming earlier to account for the possible wait time.
We got in just in time before the morning rush this is a small quaint mom and pop diner. My friend recommended we go before a meeting and it was worth it! We split the amazing tasty fresh warm out of the oven apple cinnamon coffee cake. The cowboy Benedict was perfect combo of poached eggs (they let you do your eggs whatever way you want) and sausage patties biscuit and gravy. They have several choices for sides and I did the hash brown patties so good perfect crisp! I did the bottomless hot chocolate that everyone has raved about and tho tasty I was sad I didn't get my sprinkles like they list it to have. I may be a 50 year old but I want my sprinkles! All in all an amazing attentive staff and delicious breakfast.
Louisa's was recommended to us by our hosts, so we stopped by for some breakfast. This is a cozy diner with limited space. Luckily, there was no wait, and we got right in. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. Great place, and I would definitely come back. I had a coffee and a #22 - Eggs, bacon, potatoes, and their fresh cinnamon roll Everything was cooked and seasoned well. The potatoes come with rather large chunks of onion, which I didn't mind one bit. The star of this dish was indeed the cinnamon roll...if you like cinnamon rolls, you MUST order one! It comes with extra butter and frosting and is crazy good.
We are from out of town and in search of a breakfast spot. This is a small restaurant located right in downtown next to lots of shops. We were greeted right when we came in and it has a counter cafe vibe. Definitely limited seating but the menu is anything but. I ended up ordering a steak ranchero omelette and my husband got the cinnamon roll combo. Mine came with home fries, consisting of actual fries, peppers and onions. The steak in my omelette was super tender and the flavor was great. I took a bite of the cinnamon roll and it was dense and very sweet. All in all, a great spot.
Sweet little spot in San Luis that I've come to enjoy twice now!! Reminds me of home cookin' from your mama on the range! Thick hash browns (not the thin, overcooked type you typically find at most breakfast diners) but the REAL ones with actual flavor, as if made with great effort and love for the breakfast guest. Waffles were fluffy & full of creamy, lightly sugars flavor from a scoop of soft butter and a side of warm, delicious syrup. Coffee cake selection was amazing- you can pick any kind of coffee cake! The steak and eggs were chefs kiss. We couldn't decide if we wanted medium rare or well done (we shared, I like my meat well done) so the chef/cook automatically did a 50/50. Also we had an appointment so we were "THOSE" people who requested a rush on breakfast. We received a very kind waiter who smiled politely and said yes, I'll make it happen and within 20 minutes from the order, we were almost finished and ready to pay!! Absolutely awesome experience, through & through. New favorite dining for breakfast in slo!! Keep up the great work!!
Walked passed this cute little breakfast cafe/diner vibe spot. Gotta be honest, their sign outside saying "Best breakfast in SLO" got me. Our meal was good; I had the chicken fried steak and the steak/meat was a bit funky. I wouldn't order it again but the gravy was legit. The coffee was bland and weak for my taste, especially in a coffee town like SLO. But again, this was like a diner so seemed fitting. The service was great so a well-deserved 4 star.
